Who we are
We're Daniel Alonso and Alejandro Martínez Almeida, photographers based in Madrid. We've been photographing weddings for many years and we've learnt that the best moments of the day hardly ever happen in front of the photo booth.
We work together so we can be in two places at once: one with the bride's nerves, the other with the groom's jokes; one in the front row, the other looking for the hug nobody else is watching.
A documentary eye and a cat's patience: I wait for the moment instead of forcing it. I'm obsessed with light and the small gestures nobody notices.
I've been photographing weddings since 2010. At every one I arrive early, watch how people move and wait: almost always, the best things happen when nobody is looking.
